Heart shape vivid pink with marquise wing clusters
A heart shape is unforgiving: the cleft has to be sharp, the lobes symmetrical to within 0.15 mm, and the belly wide enough to hold colour without going flat. Most pink rough refuses it.
This heart was cut over eleven weeks from a 31.4 carat crystal, losing more than half its weight to keep the cleft crisp — a decision no yield calculation supports and the only one worth making.
The marquise wings on the earrings are graded in three tones from near-colourless to faint pink, so the pink centres appear to fade into light rather than stop at a metal edge.
