Repair & restoration

Nothing is subcontracted. A piece returning to the house returns to the bench that made it, and leaves with a written record of what was done to it.

  • Platinum is laser-welded onto the worn tip and hand-reduced back to 0.42 mm. The stone is not removed unless the seat itself has moved.

  • Stone out, seat re-cut, stone back under 20× with tension measured before and after. The optical report is re-issued at no cost.

  • All metal surfaces re-finished to the original brief — mirror, satin or the house's brushed grain, matched to the piece's record card.

  • For a ring worn thin over decades. New platinum is grafted to the original, keeping the hallmark and the engraving intact.

  • Where the house holds the original drawings and stone map, a piece taken apart can be rebuilt exactly. Where it does not, it will say so.

  • The bench will work on jewellery the house did not make when the construction can be read with confidence, and will decline when it cannot.
